Sometime
ago I went to work as a full time daily nanny
for a family in Primrose hill, It was an exceptional
situation and the baby was unique. After a while
my given name became too formal considering the
closeness of our relationship, I became a member
of this very special family, I became nana.
Over
the years my charges have grown and intermingled
with each other, my babies weaned, my crawlers
walked, my baby clubbers preschooled, my bilinguals
talked. Nana nurtured and nurtured and 'nana'
stuck!
Welcome
to nana nurture!

During
my 14 years In the child care sector I have been
fortunate enough to work in so many different areas
and with that have met some truly fantastic babies
and children. My work experience placement provided
by my school led me to Watford General Hospital
and the special care baby unit and once my A' levels
were done I knew which direction I would be heading
in. Over the last 10 years I have taken many more
courses and classes which include:
NVQ
level 3 childcare and education
Early nurture and postnatal doula training
Breast-feeding support and techniques workshops
BSL (British sign language) course
Baby massage courses
I
also hold a FULL police disclosure, am Ofsted approved
and am a fully qualified first aider.
My experiences vary from the special needs unit
to physio and massage in a private home, from working
in a daily nursery to running my own creche, from
maternity nursing to proxy parenting.
So many children, so many special moments.
I could write several books I should imagine, all
filled with hilarity and tears, priceless moments
when milestones are achieved or individuals demonstrate
just how individual they really are.
I would like to think I learn just as much from
the babies and children as I set out to teach them,
I look forward to seeing them grow and develop and
love to stay in touch even if its just to see if
little bob still likes to eat his peas with banana!!
Whatever your requirements I feel sure I can assist
in some way.
This website was great fun to put together....enjoy!
